Spencer K. Roth lives in Ham Lake, which is shaped like a ham, some argue it looks more like a yam. Surrounded by mostly oaks & Inspired by endless year-round barrage of stuff falling from trees, rather than eternally raking he started actually using the stuff. A long time wannabe mycologist, he started making spore prints after finding a goldmine of yellow amanitas growing in the woods. He makes botanical monoprints, wood grain tree ring prints (from already fallen trees), & mushroom spore prints. Often utilizing random household tools & materials, salvaged remnants of old art supplies, unused paint & ink & whatever can be found on the ground or in the garden, this leads to wildly unpredictable & one-of-a-kind results.
