Artist Statement for: Self Portrait with Bloody Nose
Taken seconds after the first drop of blood and moments before stepping out the door, this self portrait represents the duality I harness and witness in my everyday life. Adorned with lipstick traces of previous fleeting moments, these souvenirs of vanity create a frame-like template that accentuates what can result from the heat of a moment.
