FINE ART FROM MARTZIA THOMETZ AT THE COVEN, NOW FEATURED AT THE COVEN IN ST.PAUL.
THE COVEN PROUDLY WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CASS GARNER OF GAMUT GALLERY TO PROVIDE LOCAL, INCLUSIVE ART FOR THEIR MEMBERS
THE COVEN + GAMUT GALLERY The Coven opened their doors to 150 Founding Members on March 8, 2018- International Women’s Day. These original 150 bound together in the belief that an intersectional space with humans from every industry, age, and socioeconomic background could exist in the Twin Cities. Their early support has now grown to 400+ members from many industries. Their 5-for-1 Community Funded Membership model has allowed them to welcome nearly 140 people from underserved communities at no cost, ensuring socioeconomics is never a barrier for access.
FEATURED ARTIST Making public art since 2008, Martzia Thometz aka Prettyhard is a self-taught, Minneapolis-based visual artist with a background in graffiti. Working predominantly with aerosol, acrylic, and ink, Martzia’s work spans from large-scale, physically engaging outdoor murals, to arduous and detailed canvas paintings and textile graphics in the studio. Her trademark imagery seeks to exist between the elemental contrasts of “soft” and “hard,” and centers around the acknowledgment of radical resilience throughout time and in our world today. Through an intimate yet, universal shared experience of hope for a better tomorrow, womanhood in a patriarchal world, everyday survival, and the challenging, ongoing work of personal empowerment after trauma, her goal is to connect and heal others and herself.
On this page, you will find artwork currently displayed in their St. Paul Location. Artworks will ship and be available for local pick-up in 10-15 business days. Gallery will contact the buyer to discuss shipping and handling.
