Renee Boynton is an emerging, dry media-enthused artist born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area who currently resides south of the Twin Cities and has called Minnesota “home” for over a decade. After earning her BA in Art from Southern Oregon University in 2008, she didn't draw again until 2021, when the pandemic helped shift her perspective on life, art, community, and the time we have left on this planet.
Drawing freehand with chunks of charcoal and soft pastel pencils, Renée is fascinated with perspective, subtle detail, light, and negative space. Keeping these elements in mind, she explores how the natural world can be transformed, enhanced, and abstracted by shadows and differing points of view.
